8 Weeks Potter’s Wheel Beginner Course starting in April

The Potter's Wheel Beginner Course is designed for those who attended one of our sessions as well as to those who would like to practice and develop throwing skills. To make sure each participant gets tailored and one-to-one tutoring this course runs only with 6 students.

During the 8 weeks course you will learn and have plenty of time to practice throwing on the potter's wheel. The first class will focus on throwing basic cilinder shapes, then move to bowls, vessels or pots during the second session. Later you will learn to throw more complex shapes like bowls, vessels, mugs jugs and cups. The course also covers trimming and glazing, adding handles and creating a lidded jar. 

By the end of the course you will produce approximately 10 finished pieces.

All materials, glazing and firing is included in the price.

5 Weeks Evening Pottery Course starting in April

Tuesday evenings 6:30pm-9:00pm

This Pottery Course for Beginners is happening in a relaxed and intimate environment at our newly set up studio. The perfect opportunity to unwind and develop your creativity, under the close guidance of our excellent tutor, Vinicius. There is a maximum of 6 students taking part in the course allowing extended attention towards each student.

Each session focuses on a specific technique, where each method leads to the next: pinching, coiling, slab building and throwing on the potters wheel, with the last session focusing on colour application and surface decoration. Furthermore you will develop good studio practice and material knowledge. 

After completion of the course, you will be capable of planning and creating your own pottery pieces independently using the various techniques learned during the 5 weeks and will have gained efficient studio practice.

We are pleased to invite you to come and see Vinicius' upcoming solo show at the fantastic Willesden Gallery in Willesden Green, Brent.

In this exhibition Vinicius introduces a series of sketches, paintings and ceramics showcasing his deep connection with nature and his contemplative approach towards it. Through this cycle of works, he invites the viewer to see beyond their preconceived notions of seeing nature and explore the endless possibilities that lie within the natural world. The changing landscapes of 2D paintings and 3D ceramics offers a fresh perspective, encouraging to view nature in a new light.
